DeadStick Dash

Tahoe can hide your menu bar icons. Dash keeps them working while hidden. One calm yoke icon in your menu bar; tuck the rest away and they stay one click away — as live chips that open and right-click exactly like the real icons they are.

How it works

  • Tuck icons away. Hold ⌘ and drag any menu-bar icon left of Dash's divider — or drop it onto the yoke — and it tucks away.
  • Still one click away. Click the yoke and tucked icons appear as chips. Click one to open it; right-click for its menu — exactly as if it were still in the bar.
  • Two optional permissions. Screen Recording shows pictures of your tucked icons; Accessibility makes chip clicks act on the real icon. Skip either — Dash still works.

Honest by design

100% free. No accounts, no analytics, no subscription, no paid tiers. Everything stays on your Mac; the only network request the app ever makes is its update check. Signed and notarized with a Developer ID, updated through the open-source Sparkle framework.

Requires macOS 26 (Tahoe). Apple items like the clock and Control Center can't be moved or hidden — that's a macOS rule, and Dash won't pretend otherwise.
